    本プロジェクトでは、哲学、教育哲学、教育実践者の緊密な共同研究による、理論的に妥当で教育実践上も有効な徳認識論の理論を構築することを研究目的としている。具体的には、日本という教育文化的風土における善き認識者の「徳」を明らかにし、それに基づいた徳認識論の新たな理論を提案するものであり、そのために、２０２０年度は、上記の観点からの既存の研究のサーヴェイと仮説理論の形成を行った。これにより、一方で日本における徳について広く知見を集めることができ、他方で翌年度実施する質問紙調査にむけての土台作りをおこなうことができた。また、初年度の対外的な成果としても、ほとんどの担当者が書籍（分担執筆）や論文を刊行するなど、次年度に繋がる成果を順調に積み上げることができた。

    本研究は、哲学教育を、高等教育における専門教育や教養教育の現場のみならず、初等・中等教育の現場や現代社会のさまざまな現場で活用する意義と方法とを研究し、現代社会の課題に応えることのできる哲学教育の基盤を構築することを目的とする。そのため、本年度は、以下の四つの課題に応えるべく、研究を遂行した。 課題１：初等・中等・高等教育において哲学教育がもちうる意義を明確にし、それに資する教育方法を開発し、その効果を明示する。 課題２：市民教育・社会教育において哲学教育がもちうる意義を明確にし、それを資する教育方法を開発し、その効果を明示する。 課題３：上記の哲学教育に必要とされる指導者の資質や能力を明らかにし、その養成方法を開発する。 課題４：哲学的対話を中心とする哲学教育と伝統的な哲学教育・研究との相互関係を明確にする。 以上の課題を果たすため、代表者・分担者各自がすでに実践している学校教育における対話を中心とする哲学教育（東京都内と被災地を含む日本各地）を継続するとともに 、広く同種の実践例およびそれらに関する理論的研究を調査した。特に、新設の教科「道徳」（小・中学校）については公開研究会（２月）を、新設の教科「公共」については日本哲学会で公開ワークショップ（５月）を開催した。また、海外の研究・実践者二名（ブラジル及びオーストラリア）を招聘して、公開講演会・ワークショップ・学校訪問（５月）を行った。また、カンボジアおよびシンガポールの実践を調査するとともに現地の研究者・実践者との交流を深めた（２月）。さらに、世界哲学会議（北京8月）で東アジアの哲学教育に関するラウンド・テーブルを主催して各地域の研究者と意見交換するとともに、その他の分科会にも積極的に参加して世界各地の実践者・研究者と研究交流を行い、豊富な知見を得た。

    In this study, in order to convert philosophy and ethics classes into classes that foster thinking, We researched the aim, teaching methods, and evaluation of those classes. Conventionally, the study of the history of ideas has been the main focus of philosophy and ethics classes. We aimed to change those and create a class where students could think through discussions and dialogues with each other. However, these are new class formats for Japanese schools. Therefore, there are many difficulties in realizing them. In order to solve these difficulties, we focused on "Philosophy for Children," which is an interactive type of philosophy education. We then proposed a method of teaching that can be implemented in Japanese schools, incorporating the philosophy and educational methods of "Philosophy for Children. Specifically, we proposed and discussed the effective use of teaching materials, the form of classes that can be connected with conventional classes, and the way of evaluation.

    "Thinking" is an most important basis of innovation. In this research, we focus on a creative thinking concerning to innovation of scientific technology and developing the education method of fostering creative thinking in a school. Two notable characteristics are founded about creative thinking through philosophical research. One is a closed relation to a physical body. Improvisation on theater is a one of the most impressive instance. Second characteristics about creative thinking relate to an agency. Education method called "Silent Dialogue" is improved in basis of two discoveries. Silent Dialogue is improved by trial and error. Many students are gave positive response to this program.

    In this research project, we have aimed to work out the method of promoting philosophy education in the primary and secondary education and to construct effective teaching programs, accomplishing the following achievements. (1) We have accumulated basic resources for designing teaching programs of philosophy through surveying the literature on the philosophical dialogue in education. (2) We have worked out several teaching programs by referring to existing practices of the philosophical dialogue in schools and making collaborative researches with overseas researchers and practitioners. (3)We have designed several teaching programs and tried them in different primary and secondary schools in Japan, convincing ourselves of the relevance of the philosophical dialogue in education as well as improving our teaching programs. (4) We have deepened our understanding of the significance and meaning of teaching philosophy in the primary and secondary education.
